Eastern Steel Sdn Bhd (ESSB) is an overseas subsidiary of China Beijing Jianlong Heavy Industry Group Co., Ltd. (Jianlong Group), was jointly invested by Jianlong Group and Hiap Teck Venture Bhd (HTVB) Malaysia. Covering an area of 1,209 acres, it has major production plants such as coking, sintering, iron-making, steel-making and auxiliary facilities, and has an annual production capacity of 700,000 metric tons.
The company currently has 1,989 employees, including 7 Masters, 190 Degree and 430 Diploma qualification staffs. The principal activities of ESSB are manufacturing, selling and dealing in a range of steel product, serving the Malaysian and Southeast Asian markets.
ESSB plans to build a comprehensive integrated steel mill with a 75 million metric tons annual production capacity in the future. At present, some projects have started construction. It was planned to achieve 2.7 million metric tons within 2nd phase construction and 7.5 million metric tons 3rd phase construction.
